Welcome to Hooks & Chains by SG. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website at www.hooksandchainsbysg.com (the "Site") and your purchase and use of any digital crochet patterns, reference cards, or other goods we sell (the "Products"). Please read them carefully. By using the Site or purchasing a Product, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are and how to reach us

Hooks & Chains by SG is a small US-based business owned and operated by Sami G. We can be reached at hooksandchainsjd@gmail.com.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to purchase Products from us. By placing an order, you represent and warrant that you meet that requirement and that the payment information you provide is accurate and authorized for your use.

3. The Products are digital downloads

All Products sold on the Site are digital instant-download PDF files. No physical item is shipped. After checkout you will receive an order confirmation, a download link in your account, and a copy of your file by email. You will need a PDF reader (such as the free Adobe Acrobat Reader) to view the file. Files print cleanly on standard US Letter (8.5" × 11") paper or can be followed on any phone, tablet, or laptop.

4. License: what you can and cannot do with your purchase

When you purchase a Product, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Product on the following terms:

You may: use the Product for your personal, non-commercial crocheting; print as many copies as you reasonably need for your own use; and make and sell finished items (e.g., bookmarks, coasters, garlands, bags, garments) that you have hand-made from the pattern, in limited handmade-scale quantities. Credit to Hooks & Chains by SG is appreciated whenever you sell finished items but is not required for most patterns. Patterns containing the Crochet Hook Size Chart or other reference cards are for personal use only and may not be used to make finished items for sale because they are educational materials, not patterns for finished objects.
You may not: copy, reproduce, redistribute, resell, share, sublicense, post publicly, email, post on file-sharing sites, or otherwise distribute the Product file itself in any form, in whole or in part; translate, modify, or create derivative pattern files; mass-produce finished items at industrial scale; or claim the Product (or any pattern, layout, or photography contained in it) as your own work or design.

The Product, including its written instructions, photography, illustrations, layout, design, and trademarks, is the intellectual property of Hooks & Chains by SG and is protected under United States and international copyright law (17 U.S.C. § 101 et seq.). All rights not expressly granted to you in this Section 4 are reserved.

5. All sales are final

Because the Products are instant digital downloads that cannot be returned once delivered, all sales are final and we do not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges once a Product has been delivered to your account. This is consistent with standard practice for digital goods.

If you have a problem with your file (it didn't deliver, won't open, is missing a page, etc.), please email us at hooksandchainsjd@gmail.com within 30 days of purchase and we will make it right.

Nothing in this Section limits any non-waivable consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your country, state, or province of residence.

6. Orders, pricing, and payment

Prices are listed in US dollars (USD) and may change at any time. Shipping is never charged because no physical goods are shipped. Applicable sales tax, VAT, or other transaction taxes may be added at checkout based on your location. Payment is processed by Shopify Payments and other payment processors we have enabled (such as Shop Pay, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay). We are not responsible for fees your bank or card issuer may charge for foreign-exchange or processing.

If a Product is listed at an incorrect price due to a typo or pricing-system error, we reserve the right to cancel the affected order and refund any amount charged.

7. Accounts

You can purchase Products as a guest or by creating an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secret and for any activity that happens under your account. Please notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Site in any way that violates applicable law or that interferes with other users' use of the Site. You will not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services, scrape or copy content from the Site for commercial use, reverse-engineer any part of the Services, or use the Services to send spam, harass others, or distribute malware.

9. Customer reviews and content

If you post a review, share a finished-item photo, tag us on social media, or otherwise submit content related to a Product ("User Content"), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, display, and share that content (with attribution where reasonable) for marketing and operational purposes. You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to the User Content you submit.

10. Disclaimers

The Site and the Products are provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be error-free or uninterrupted, that the Products will meet your specific needs, or that any finished item you make from a Product will look identical to the photographs shown. Crochet is a craft, and finished results depend on your individual yarn choice, hook size, gauge, and tension.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Hooks & Chains by SG, Sami G, or our affiliates, service providers, or licensors be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages (including lost profits, lost data, or lost goodwill) arising out of or related to your use of the Services or the Products, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or relating to the Services or a Product is limited to the amount you paid us for that Product (or, if no purchase was made, USD $50).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. If those laws apply to you, some or all of the exclusions and limitations above may not apply, and you may have additional rights.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hooks & Chains by SG, Sami G, and our affiliates from any claim, demand, loss, or liability (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Products (including any commercial use beyond the license granted in Section 4), or your violation of any applicable law or third-party right.

13. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State in which Hooks & Chains by SG is organized, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in that State, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing in this Section prevents either party from seeking injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where the changes are material, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

15. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services and supersede any prior agreements. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them in connection with a sale, merger, or other corporate transaction.
